Fifteen Minutes Of My Time

WHAT I did...in 15 minutes or so..saving $15 or more..

Besides having my car washed, polished on my own, keeping tyres black and clean could save some dimes in my pocket. The economic downturn sure turns me panic at first. But now no more. There are ways cutting cost to save certain bills. Middle class group like me there is ample time to get some collectible hobbies. Something that could cut cost is more favourable. Even mothers at home could join me.

Yes, one question what happens if there is a dead bulb in one of the tail lights of your car?

Things You’ll Need:

  • Automotive Light Bulbs ( Easy to get at the automotive supply shop, you just name the position of the light either for break and tail or reverse light. Please mention the brand of your car. Get the originals.)
  • Cleaning Cloths
  • Rags /spray for corrosive parts
  • Screwdriver Sets (Always spare a set of screw drivers with different tips and sizes in the booth. Cheap, quality and handy.)**

Determine how the bulb is accessed: On some models the lens (the red or white plasticpart over the light) must be unscrewed from the outside, and on others the bulb is accessible only from inside the trunk. If there are no screws on the lens, you can assume that the bulb must be replaced from inside. Usually there will be a plastic cover that must be removed in order to access the bulb. There may be tabs, screws or small knobs that hold this plastic cover in place.

(W40D spray comes handy when the screw turns corrosive. Little bit spraying on the screw and let it be for a few minutes.)

Unscrew the lens on the outside, or take off the plastic cover from inside the trunk, to reveal the

bulb.

Unscrew the bulb. You'll have to push in and turn at the same time.

(with care, cos the glass is brittle, sometimes breaks and might hurt

your fingers.Use cloth to push and turn the bulb)

Take the bulb to the auto supply to have the right duplicate.

Clean the connection with a wire brush and/

or wipe it clean with a rag if there's any corrosion.

(the easy way spraying with W40D and wipe it clean)

Again, you'll have to push in and turn simultaneously. Line up the tiny raised bumps on the base of the bulb in order to screw it in.

Test your work by stepping on the brakes and turning on the headlights while someone that can help to watch the new bulb to make sure it lights up.

BINGO!!!

Roughly saving $15 or maybe more...?

Hey, happy driving.

Tips: In the booth place
1. Set of scew drivers

2. Piece of cloth
3. A set of pliers (breaker-grozier)
